Hello,
I'm looking for some assistance with my AMI "i" that I recently bought. It is an electric 200 select model.
On initial power up the carousel would scan and pick up different selections. I was able to cancel each one with the reject button on the rear but now the that button and cut off switch fail to return the transfer arm back to the carousel. Currently the turntable motor is spinning with the transfer arm in play position.
Any ideas on what the issue could be?
Thank you,

Hi Dan, It's most likely a cam switch contact. If you refer to the "cut off switch actuates" shem-a-gram, you can see what would prevent the reversing relay from actuating - other contenders would be the cut off switch itself, transfer switch and stopping switch. Sometimes you need to operate the tansfer motor manually (with power off!) to place the gripper back over the magazine. This allows better access to switches etc.
Did you buy it refurbished or as a project? I have taken it for granted (maybe wrongly?) that you have a service manual!
Norman.

Hi Norman
It has been refurbished by the previous owner, but it has been sitting in a crate for a couple of years and I've only recently unpacked it.
While I have a fairly limited understanding of the mechanics I'm hoping I can get it playing again myself as I don't think it needs too much work. I'd also like to improve my knowledge for future adjustments as necessary.
Thank you for your suggestions. I do indeed have the service manual. Will report back when I get a chance to have a closer look.
