I have CD100G that the mech rotates, the arm picks up a cd and places it for a sec and grabs it and puts it back, continually does that. I am getting ready to send the boards and cd out to have them diagnosed and repaired, but I was wondering if there is anything else I can do. I replaced the battery and cleared the errors and they stayed cleared.
Thanks, Scott

Hi Scott, What were the errors ? Do the CD's spin, or not-- Which model player, is installed in your mechanism ? Have you attempted to clean the lens ? Ron Rich

Hello, When I got it, it had the battery error 14-06 and a communication error 05-63. I replaced the battery (with a battery holder) and checked all the connections to the computer. Cleared the errors and they stayed cleared. When a cd is placed on the player, it does not spin. It says "Industrial" on the player I believe that means it is a CDM12. I cleaned the lens. Also reset the computer to factory. It has the 4.3 rom. According the manual, the MCC is the problem. Does that sound right?

Hi Scott, Offhand--no, that does not "sound right". Which MCC is installed in it ? Did yo read the sticky post above about "common Rowe Problems"? Ron Rich

I did read the sticky, I have not done anything with the plugs yet. Checked everything with a meter and they are all making connection. The last owner spliced into the harness in several places, I checked the manual and made sure that everything is wired as it should be. I do have another mcc on the way.. so I can rule that out.
Thanks,
Scott

Replaced the MCC, that fixed the constant rotating problem. CD will not spin. Sent it out to have it repaired.

2 cents: Even if cables/pins show good continuity on a meter, that may not be accurate once an electrical load is placed on them. I have fixed multiple problems at one time by thoroughly cleaning all the contacts on every interconnect cable. It's definitely a common issue.

Hi Dave, Well, your "2 cents" may well be worth a whole lot more today, due to inflation ? If attempting to measure current flow with a "digital" meter of ANY quality, I have found it to be impossible ! However, I have never had my 1972 Weston 660 ( better quality then a "Simpson 260", IMHO) fail to prove useful ! If set to the "Rx1" Ohm scale, and properly "zero'ed", my Weston will show a good or,failed, connection, every time !

Hi Scott, Yep-- they did a fairly good job of making something out of nothing-- but if you truly have a Seeburg SQS 160, --set-up CORRECTLY, and good records--that will blow your mind ! Ron Rich

My SQS160 is going to be my winter project. The Amp works, I got the mech unstuck, DCC seems to work, but it does not correctly place a record on the hub (Yet). I replaced all the fluorescent lamps (The 30" is a pain to find) Have not had the time work on it lately but I did finally get a heater for my garage so I can work on my projects in the winter.

Hi Scott, "--A WINTER project"-- How doyaknow "the amp works" ? Do-didj hear noise from the cabinet speakers ? You do not have the mech "un-stuck" if it won't place a record ! How many 30" lamps would you like ? I probably have a dozen or so left--I am looking for a 15 " T-8 CW lamp--

I bumped the needle and heard the sound from the amp, it has had some work done to it from what I can tell. I said "Unstuck" because when I got it, it would not rotate or move at all. I degreased most of it, but got busy with other things and have not had time to work on it lately. It has the quad box in it but it did not come with any external speakers. I have 3 jukeboxes now.. my wife says I need a 12 step program and I say I need another jukebox. I am thinking about picking up a Seeburg CD that does not spin, if the guy comes down another $50 I will get it.
