Working on restoring a Wurlitzer 1050 that has been stored since the mid 1990's... most of the components are off the shelf electronics, and of course freeing / lubricating the various components was fairly easy. I have it up and playing - and now I am working my way through the various electronic problems. First up - volume and channel control. Both sets of potentiometers appear to be shot... they crackle and kick in and out when touched... if you shake them / and wiggle them they will play but not well. The through the case volume control one would appear to be the most difficult to source... it's PN J25700 200k - 5047335... it's adjustable from both sides (key on one side, knob on other) and appears to have two separate potentiometers back to back.. Has anyone come up with a good replacement for this? the other looks to just be a standard knob style and appears to be one I can source easily (have one almost identical for a Fender amp).

If you are somewhere in the world that you can purchase a can of "Deoxit-5", I would suggest that you do so, and try that first ! IF, that won't do it, I suggest you look at our FAQ's section and find one of the suppliers list, who has those pots for sale. Ron Rich

Had already cleaned them as best I could... working through figuring out if parts are available. Separate question - anyone have an instruction for the replacement of a lower palister plastic on the 1050. Have the plastic - previous owner purchased one; looks at a glance like half of the front of the machine has to come apart to get to it.

Check our FAQs page-- pots for most US products are available. On the pilaster--- I've done it-- MANY years ago, on location-- rotten job-- pre "camera" days-- suggest you use the parts catalog, and, take lotza pix today ! EASY, to "mess up" the new item (Do NOT AXK !) Ron Rich
