Hi, I'm new here and need help. I was setting up my old 1100 the other day, which has been in storage for quite a while. I didn't realize how old and brittle some of the wires were. Specifically the wire labeled on the control box as "Chassis" shorted out and sent white smoke billowing from the control box. The insulation on that wire inside the control box vaporized into white smoke. Although neither the 15 amp or 3/8 amp fuse blew, I'm afraid it may may have also have fried that control box transformer, as it was very hot and may have been smoking as well. I also need to replace the brittle main power cord before I can test it. But that leads to my question. There are no specs stamped on that transformer, just the number 49332 stamped on it. I have a manual on order, but meanwhile, can anyone tell me about this transformer's specifications and if there replacements or substitutes available, if needed ?
Thanks,
Stan

Hi Stan, Go above to the FAQ's, and check the list of parts suppliers--That number is probably the in house WurliTzer number-- Ron Rich

Thanks Ron,
Glad to have found this forum.
I have talked with Victory Glass and they had nothing to offer, except the manual. Checked several of the parts websites with no luck finding anything other than like tubes, amp components, needles, and reproduction plastics, etc. Was an excellent older article on "retroaudiolab" website on rebuilding an 1100 control box but didn't mention the transformer itself. Emailed them but no reply. May be out of business.
Was hoping to connect with someone on this forum who would have experience with 1100s the control transformer. I'm assuming that it must be 24 volts for the selector and coin acceptor solenoids ? However, it seems like a pretty heavy duty transformer for that application, since lots of the other components (turntable table motor, fluorescent lights, chassis?, etc) are just 110 anyway. Hopefully someone will know and perhaps can suggest a modern replacement. If not I'll wade through the manual and schematic when it arrives.
Thanks, Stan

Send Bill Butterfield an email. He has an enormous parts selection. Web site is mffe (Musical Fun For Everyone). He has come through on many items for me through the years.
