Hi,
I've noticed that the credit unit on my AMI K is missing the plunger F-7757 for the cancel solenoid, and the "leafs" have been cut off the switch F-7977 on the bottom corner.
Seems as though this credit unit is rather hard to come by on ebay or the usual sources...haven't been able to find one for sale anywhere.
I can probably cobble something together to replace the switch out of my pile of spare parts.
Wondering if the plunger might be the same/similar on the "next version" of AMI credit unit? There are several advertised for JAO-MM5 that look like the credit/cancel solenoid arrangement is similar.
Maybe someone out there has a junk credit unit out there that I could purchase and use to make one good one?
Any other ideas or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, Some sort of crude free play modification? The credit unit on the JBM (Tropicana) is the same but not sure about the JAO! The part numbers for the MM1 (I don't have JAO manual) don't match up with JBM so I suspect that it is different, although it does look a bit similar. On the JBM the credit solenoid and cancel solenoid are clearly different sizes but on the MM1, they are similar sizes. It's a difficult one!

Hi Norman,
Thanks for the reply.
I think it is some sort of free play modification. Too bad they removed parts and did not just disconnect a couple wires...
Anyway, I ordered a later model credit unit to use for parts, hoping I can swap or modify my way to success.

Hi,
Thought I'd provide an update...
The plungers that came with the later model credit unit were both the same length (from memory approx 2.875") and needed something around 2.25" to work in the "K" credit unit cancel solenoid. I just ground down one of the plungers that came in the later model unit and it solved the problem.
Also cobbled together the missing switch with some leftover spare parts, tricky adjustment to get the switch "happy" as there isn't a whole lot of separating force (just the plunger weight) and stroke distance available.
