Hello! I am new here and hoping to get some help with my Rowe R-87 Jukebox. The jukebox was functioning well ( it was off by a few selection numbers but otherwise played fine) until we moved. Now, it will only play selection 100 and only after it's plugged in/turned on and once it plays that selection it will not play anything else, not even that selection over. The arm does place the record in the slot after play, and then places on the turntable to play it when turned on but that is all we can get it to do. Our local jukebox vendor where we purchased this told us they can no longer get technicians or parts locally so essentially it is stuck as is unless we can find some help! We'd even be willing to sell it to someone for parts if we can't fix it just to 'save' it from the junkyard!! Any help or advice, would be greatly appreciated. We are in the Des Moines, Iowa area! thank you, Kris Reed

My guess would be a dead or dying system board battery, if you moved and it was unplugged for awhile, and especially if that battery has never been replaced. The fact that it fires up and successfully plays one record means the mech and amp all work. On that generation of jukes, I have found that when the battery is dying, on fire-up it will sometimes play a random selection(s). When the battery is missing entirely, it won't let you select anything. The official Rowe-AMI prognosis for a dead system battery is to replace the whole motherboard, but it's a pretty simple matter (for a handy person) to remove the hard-soldered coin battery and solder in a new coin cell holder.
If replacing the battery is beyond your ability and you can't find anyone local, I can help you out if you ship me the board. I think it would be a good first thing to try. I'm practically right next door in Peoria, Illinois. I'd probably do it in exchange for a shake from the Drake Diner, but I don't think it would survive shipping. :-)
