Has anybody successfully released the cam block from the end of the drive shaft. Alloy and steel don't go well together. I have removed the grub screws and filled the holes with plusgas, I have also given it a few taps with a hammer and drift but it's stuck fast. Freeze spray might be next. I need to turn it a couple of degrees to activate/deactivate the three microswitches. I took a picture on my phone but can't work out how to upload it. Thanks in advance, all ideas welcome.

Don't know what 'plusgas" is, nor where you're located, but the best "un-sticker" I have ever found is "Tri-flo" in LIQUID form-- might try it ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron Rich, I'm in the UK and plusgas is similar to WD40, it's a penetrant. I've had thoughts on wrapping it in a microwave heat pad but not sure it would get warm enough to make it expand a little. Don't want to risk getting the blowlamp on it.

Plus Gas is a good product, it's a penetrating oil as opposed to WD40 (WD = water dispersant) which is widely seen as a jack of all trades spray! While I wouldn't really recommend a blow lamp, an electric heat gun should do the trick for you.
Norman.

If you read around here, you will see that my opinion of WD 40 is that it is "the jack of all trades--master of NONE" ! Ron Rich

Hi Ron, I totally agree with you about WD40 - I was attempting a bit of sarcasm! Norman.

Hi Norman, I had assumed so, but there are people who swear by it ! Ron Rich

Swear by it, swear at it more like! It is cheap and it does have its uses though. It's really good at softening adhesive residue, for example where someone has taped something up, it's been left too long and when the tape is removed you are left with the rock hard remains of the adhesive on a cabinet or glass - WD40 tip of the day lol!
Norman.

Hi Norman, There are at least two other products here that are excellent at old tape removal-- and neither "stinks" ! LOL Ron Rich

Who's the idiot? That would be me. I was misreading cam positions but the manual which arrived this morning cleared that up. Now to try and find out what stops it from doing what it should. Thanks for the replies anyway. Rod

I did wonder why you needed to move it, but you seemed to have the air of someone who knew what they were doing!

That makes two of us, it obviously had worked fine before I bought it and being seized it was obvious that no-one had altered it. I'm on a learning curve as this is my first attempt at fixing a jukebox .
