Hello, I'm cleaning up and restoring my R-86. The foam behind the CCC board has rotted away and some has stuck to the pcb. A couple of questions. I tried to brush off the foam from the pcb with some 91% isopropyl and a soft toothbrush. seems like its leaving a little residue. Is that ok? Also, what type of foam should I use to replace it with?
I've owned the machine for seven years but not messed with it since i bought it. Located in the US.
thank you

You can just leave what's stuck-- does not seem to affect anything- fill space with thin cardboard. No problems ! Ron Rich

I use 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean the "gunk" off of the circuit board. I use a cut up cereal box to make a new insulator sheet for the back of the circuit board.
