Thank you very much for all your help. I will look into finding a chip... My enjoyment of the jukebox is greatly reduced as is... If I can fix it with little chance of hurting it I might as well give it a try. I gave a quick look through the vendors but didn't see anyone selling these chips. Are they hard to find? Is there a seller anyone here would recommend?

Hi Jim, FYI-- a "jukebox" is not designed to be a "random player" in the first place-- read the "Hi Newbies" post, in our FAQ's section-- also, isn't there a listing of a person for NSM help, and or parts, in the FAQ's ? Ron Rich

To each his own I guess... I fell in love with these machines listening to one on random in a bar in my youth. I used one for 15 years playing it as music in the background. I guess they should not have made them play on random if they were not meant to. I am just disappointed this replacement version does not work like my last one.
I was looking in the parts section and didn't see anything.
Thanks for all your patience and help.

Jim. I used to work on these ESV's and ESV.1's a lot at the amusement business I retired from in 2010. Did you try to blow all the memory out of the box(do a factory reset)? The manual doesn't give you the procedure for doing this so you'd have to get the actual factory instructions for doing it, depending on the exact model of the Box. I used to carry a notepad that had the instructions on it for this procedure but would have to try and dig it up. I believe there's a certain sequence of numbers you have to enter to do this. I just don't remember the exact ones. I'll look around for it. I'm sure someone who knows these NSM boxes would have that info also.
