Hi John, In that case it would appear your original amp was modified because the 3 (of 5) pins that should be used are 1, 2 and 5. You could ask the guy who is repairing your amp to confirm exactly what has been done and modify your replacement amp accordingly - or get the correct volume/reject for your replacement amp? Norman.

Hi John, Which ones of the five are "blanks" ? Look down into your "new" amp-- is there a five pin housing inserted onto the header ? If so you can pull it off/out and move the existing 3 pins to the new housing, in about one minute. To re-move a pin from the housing-- find the "slit" in the housing that the locking tab is hooked on. Push it inward only enough to "un-lock" it--slide pin out, by pulling GENTLY, on the wire end. Reform pin and lock tab--slide it into the new housing. Ron Rich

John, Do you have the manual on your phono-- If so follow the wiring diagrahm-- One pin on that amp is ground, the other two are tied together --one for each channel. Ron Rich

John, That's typical of the plug being on "wrong"-- Amp sees a short. --open-no sound See the service manual amp trouble shooting section. Ron Rich
