Hi All - back again with another question about my SS160.
When I got my hands on the unit. I found that the album display motor had its power disconnected at the electric plug that is clipped just in front of the motor itself. I plugged it back in and can hear a bit of noice coming from the motor, but no sign of movement. Anyone have experience with this motor? Does it sound repairable, or has the motor just lost its strength over time?

Well, repair is out of the question now. I disassembled the entire thing and plugged the motor in by itself, but it still couldn't turn. I ended up breaking into the motor and found that the primary gear had seized up, and all the grease in the other gears had turned to cement.

Hi Kenneth, Is there a maker's name on that motor--perhaps they are still operating and have that motor available ?? Ron Rich

Bowman Electric, it was Model E. I found that they made motors for clocks and other things, but have yet to find anything definitive on if the company still exists or not.

I had the same experience with the motor. Tried to repair the gear shaft mounts with JB Weld and then redrill the mounting holes, but couldn't get the gears to realign. Disassembly of the motor drive shaft and gears was extremely difficult without damaging the gear shaft mounts. I have ordered the synchronous timing motor linked below, but am unsure if the mounting will fit adequately to the support castings. I will update once I receive the motor. www.herbachrademan.com/product-page/copy-of-115-vac-synchronous-timing-motor
