This is on my Wurlitzer Fuego 1984. Found this broken spring while fixing another issue. I don't see a place where this spring would attach if it wasn't broken. Everything seems to be operating normally. The spring in question is #11 in the diagram below. Ironically (or perhaps not) the diagram does not show where the broken end of my spring should attach. Can anyone provide some insight or perhaps snap a pic if you have a similar mech on your juke?

I have simply removed the spring for now. If I ever see a machine locally that uses this mechanism I'll take a look and see what it has.

Hi Darren, You can't see where that spring goes ?? It's obvious to me where it goes-- just where you put it, as it's broken !! Ron Rich

Figured it out. Spring attaches to a "post" consisting of a screw, spacer, and nut (to the left in the pic) external to the mechanism housing as speculated. It didn't seem like it would go there as it would be quite stretched when the mechanism is at rest and record isn't playing. Perhaps that's why it broke. I have a "sort of close" spring in there now until I can source a proper replacement. Found this video for confirmation:

I happened upon the drawing and parts list for this mechanism that they used in the more recent model "One More Time" jukes. Guess what? This spring is omitted from the drawing and list. Did they decide this spring is superfluous? It does seem to behave the same either way. The mystery continues.

Edit: The spring is not listed in the OMT CD parts list. The parts list for the OMT vinyl (that I found) does not have a drawing/list of the mechanism.

It would appear that the spring (old number 0006110040, new number 11641) was determined to be no longer useful by the factory - it really has little purpose to begin with simply lifting the cam roller against the top side of the heart shaped grove in the main drive gear - where the roller was a close fit anyway.
I don't have it shown in my factory service bulletins indexes...the spring just disappeared between 1986 and 1990s...
