I've always wanted a Seeburg Bandshell and this weekend I got one. Of course, it's in non-working condition but that was expected. I'm not new to jukeboxes, I've bought and restored 15 Rockolas. But other than a couple Seeburg trash cans I had years ago, I've never even seen the inside of one of these, so I'm starting all over again with this one. I have the manuals for all my Rockolas, so I know that's what I need to get right away. I've been blown away how much documentation is available for Seeburgs! So where to start: the AMR publications of the original manuals I've seen on Victory Glass? And is that the same package offered on Always Jukin? I've also seen combo packages of publications by Tony Miller and Harold Hagen, and I think Ron Rich has materials available, too. I' not going to be ready right off for anything requiring a degree in electronics, so... where to start? Patrick

Hi Patrick, Didja get a "Bandshell" (USC-1) or a Bandshell/Firestar" (USC-2)? I would start by purchasing a Manual PACKAGE from Victory Glass (AMR), then READING them. I would also humbly suggest that both my Seeburg Mechanism--Seeburg MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guides, should be of help (once again, only if read !) ( available directly from me at: ronnnrich@yahoo.com). If you intend to repair (if needed) the DTP-1 ("Black Box"), or DRD-1 ("Gray Box"), the late Tony Millers book, on them, is almost a must ! (These "boxes") can be purchased today for $50.00 or less--Do NOT purchase one that has no printed "warranty date", or has been opened !)

Ron: thanks for your reply. OK, I've got the orange one, USC-2. Even the Seeburg terminology's new to me. I'll start with the manual package and, yes, I will read it. Have to. Very little of my experiences with Rockola machines prepared me to even identify much of what I see inside this Seeburg. The adventure begins! Patrick

Patrick, Actually, RockOla, "shared" many things with Seeburg (quoting Mr. Rockola)--but not to much "terminology" other then "Write-in", and "Read-out", that I can think of---Ron Rich
