If that button interrupts the ground side, I will look for some ground contact that shouldn't be there...

OK-- If "instant", that proves it's not mechanical as described in the FAQ's section-- look at the switch itself-- is it stuck closed , or not being actuated by the button ? Ron Rich

It's a sliding switch where you can see the contacts engaging and disengaging when you press or release the button. It appears to be operating correctly which leads me to suspect some other form of grounding... Thanks.

One should not, in my opinion, rely on "appearance" to check switches ! See the FAQ's posts-- Ron Rich

No. Going out to work on it some more. All that was done before I mentioned it as non-working.

Just made six different orders to get some caps. I might as well replace the power transistors while I'm at it but I am having trouble finding an equivalent listing for: GM 6923 for this Rock Ola 440. Any help?

Hi, I'm not clear why you want to replace the output transistors if they are still functional? These transistors are germanium. There is a thread from June 2020 where somebody was replacing these with 2N3791, changing some resistors and re-biasing (on a 448). He said he would tell us how it went - he never did, so presumably it went OK!
Norman.

Good point. I have decided against it. Thanks for the input. The more I learn, the happier I am!
