I will be looking at a CD 100 C tomorrow. Not a lot of information, just said it will need to be serviced. In general are these good machines and is there still support for parts from Rowe AMI or other sources, for most common problems?
Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, As with all CD units--just about no support-- none from "Rowe"-- The C model wasnot bad-- which player is in that one ? Are any of the up-dates done to it? Ron Rich

I will find out more tomorrow, but I'll ask those questions or at least try to find out for myself. There is actually 2 for sale. I may even buy a service manual before buying it if it would help me diagnose any issues.
Thanks

Hi Tom, IMHO, one is absolutely "crazy" to try to use an older manual on a newer model-- a WHOLE LOTTA changes were made between the A and the C ! Ron Rich

Thanks Tom for the manual to the CD100-A, because as fate has it the other jukebox they had was that exact model. It is the one I am interested in it because it has an upgraded CD-PRO. The only code it threw was a 14-06 which is for a low battery in the CCC. Looks like an easy fix. It looks like a well maintained and upgraded machine. I plays and sounds good, unless there is something bad about this model I think I am going to buy it. It also has the dollar bill acceptor too.
The 100-C had the CD player swapped to a CD-4. When I saw that I just passed on it. Who know what else has been done to it.

Mike, My preference would be a good working CDM-4 ! lol !! Oh, BTW-- If you saw a 14-06 error code, bet that there were other errors too, as when the battery is low, it does not "remember" error codes -- Ron Rich

I thought the CD-Pro would be preferred over the CDM-4 because it was newer. I thought the CDM-4 wasn't serviceable anymore. Is this correct?
That being said are you saying the Cd-4 is a better unit, which might it explain why it is in a newer unit.
The CD-100C has the CDM-4. I honestly prefer C over the A. The last pizza place I went to, with a jukebox, had a C.
Ron, thanks for the tip that there might not be any other errors, since the battery is going bad.

Mike, NO--ZERO-- "CD unit" is "serviceable" any more-- Phillips has abandoned them, totally ! I have had much better luck with the 4's then the newer CD 12's, or, Pros--1 & 2-- in commercial service ! Cabinet wise - the only difference between the 100-100A, B, & C is the cabinet colors-- What's inside, any of them, today, can be any variety, of up-dated units, or non-updated units -- READ the computers-- what are the version numbers of them-- See that "down-loaded Service Manual"---Ron Rich

Thanks again Ron for you advice and experience, I will be going back tomorrow with a trailer. If the C doesn't have any real issues that's the one I will be going with.

I ended up getting the A, I could not get the C running. I did buy the A with a dead channel, but everything else ran well including the dollar acceptor.
It got jostled a bit on the ride home. I thought I got the mechanism secured but one side came loose. Also a CD centering cap on the CD player came off and after messing around with it for a while with no playback, I discovered it was wedged in under the CD player out of sight. Once reinstall it ran with out issue.
Next I'll look into the amp but I plan on having it rebuilt. I am hoping my local jukebox guys can do this for me.
