Hello All, I've just finished refurbishing my 2304 and find that when playing a record it sounds as though the record is slowing down then catching again, almost like a belt slipping. I put in a new belt after cleaning the pulley grooves with alcohol and it is still the same. I re-oiled everything in the area including the turntable motor also made sure the turntable release arm rollers were not dragging but no improvement. Now, Wurlitzers are not my strong suit so looking for and advise from the group on this one. Thank you, Mauro

Hi Ron, Yes, to all of your inquiries. I have now noticed that the record is slipping. You can see the record randomly hesitate slightly but the hub is turning, the hub/turntable does not hesitate. All the fingers are coming out to hold the record but somehow it slips. I do not see any adjustment for this in my service manual. Any ideas?

Hi Mauro, This is gonna sound crude-- but I have found it works 99% of the time-- OIL (20 wt.), the turn table thru the hole up top-- load it with oil. Then take your fist and "smack" the rear curved plate that actuates the clamp --several times-. This will get the oil to where it needs to go-- Also-- look at that actuator arm where it contacts the pin it drives-- is there a hole worn thru it ? If so, I add a spring steel clip to take up the slack-- oil that pin too--- HTH--Ron Rich

Ron, 99% and crude? That's right up my alley! I'm just not sure which hole you are making reference to. Is it in the front of the mech where the record gets clamped or somewhere in the back of the mech? I really dont see a hole anywhere. Is it close to where the 3 fingers come out to grab the record hole?

Mauro, Itz the BIG hole in the turn table housing -- up top-- about half way between the turntable and the rear where the pusheer is-- BTW-- stick some oil on the small pusher pin too -- Ron Rich
