it's a 2600 with the 543 amp. (amp was recapped completely, along with the rest of the jukebox and i don't recall this noise within the first year or so of the recap.) I am getting very loud popping and sometimes screeching coming through the speakers when the unit is warming up, it's the worst for the first few plays then after that almost goes away completely.
The popping does not seem to be happening when the amp is muted only when playing a record.
It's unaffected by the volume control, does not make it louder or quieter and does not trigger the noise.
i noted that one of the 6973 tubes which have a blue glow flashes dim each time it pops, swapping around the tubes this dimming seems to be only happening to the one socket and does not move around.
Noise is unaffected by the audio input to the amp so i can unplug input completely and it will still make the noise.
i have done the typical moving around and cleaning connections pulling and prodding wires and components (lightly tapping tubes) trying to find some way to trigger this noise and possibly narrow down the source but i am getting nothing. i cannot for the life of me get it to do this on command it's only for those first few minutes after you power it on when the amp is warming up.
if anybody reads this and has a suggestion or some other troubleshooting method i have not tried i would love to hear it.

Check the components on that affected socket-- I suspect an out of spec bias resistor ?? Ron Rich
