Greetings, I have a Rowe AMI Jan 200 that is experiencing a hum issue. The loud hum noise starts as soon as the tone arm touches down on the record and the the hum ends after a few seconds. The loud hum noise starts again right after the record is placed back in the carousel and ends when the carousel starts its rotation. Any ideas as to what is causing this issue. I have both service and parts manuals. I also have a donor jukebox for parts. Thank you! Rich Wojcik

Hi Richard, I'm not quite sure I understand the problem-- Is this "hum" coming from the speakers-- just as and, AFTER the needle is moved-- how long does it last-- how loud in comparison to the VC setting ? Ron Rich

Ron, Not from the speakers but from the tone arm? I was told the hum is the result of a faulty mute switch. The mute switch coil is reading .275 ohm. I would like to replace the coil but I can’t locate the part number of the coil. I have the schematics but they don’t help, Thanks, Rich

Hi Rich, You have me lost-- How are you hearing a "hum" from the ton arm-- the mute "switch" should operate a "relay". Is the relay moving as it should ? Ron Rich
