First off, this is a great forum. I have been scouring the web looking for tips and tricks and have not had much success. I have inheirited my late fathers restored 1015. It sat un-operational for 13 years until my mother passed away last May. I have brought it to my home, and nothing worked. I found a service manual and worked my way thru 90% of getting things working. I have coin box operational, all lights, bubbles, motors on the color tubes in door. I have had it playing songs but hit is hit and miss. So what I am experiencing - it appears the selector works fine but needs adjustment. 9 out of 10 times, it will select the correct record from stack, move it to needle for 2 seconds, and return it to the rack. When it returns to the rack it only places it 40% back in and verything goes to rest mode. This happens 9 out of 10 times...the 1 time, it plays fine? And suggestions? To this point it has more less been a lube and cleaning function....the selector has me stumped. I also have a crap load of 78's to part with if anyone is close to BC Thanks Mike

Hi Mike, If I'm understanding correctly it's still a "lube" problem Are you making 1 selection at a time ? Is the mechanical "trip switch" jammed inward ?? Ron Rich

One selection at a time. Picks correct tray out of stack, rotates to right, lifts it to needle.....2 seconds later lowers it down, returns it to stack, however only places it about 40% ofthe way into stack. Ten tries later in woks fine, then repats this cycle. I can do a video and email it Thursday?

Hi Mike, I am under the impression that the "Bar Fight switch plunger" on the right (as you face the phono) is sticking. This is a mechanical "push button", that is used to cancel a sticking/repeating record. Often the wood it passes through swells up and causes it not to return fully to the "outer" position. As for the trays not returning--do NOT force it, but if it does not return on it's own at the start of the next selection-- something is either mal -adjusted, or the tray is also "sticky". Try exorcising all of the trays, out-in, one at a time, several times, each. Hopefully after a time this will cure itself--and hopefully you removed all records and support trays when you moved the phonograph. PS--Have you oiled the motor --properly Ron Rich

Thanks Ron. I tested the switch plunger on the right and it is working good. I believe the sporatic selection problem is residing in the selector. I sam going to work at cleaning the contacts and lubing the brass rods a bit. I will advise after I do this ( might be a few days till I can get to it. ) I did manage to fix the "return to tray problem". To the right of the selector, there is a cog that rolls down a lever which retiurns the tray to the stack. The cog was only rolling part way down that lever. So with a bit of adjustment, that is now working fine.

Ok...making progress kinda. I removed the selector, cleaned the contacts, lubed the shafts that move out of the selector to play a song, and reinstalled it. I have no more of the record getiing from tray, up to needle, and back to tray with out playing a song. Now I have selecting one song.....and it plays 13 hahahaha....but hey...its playing songs in order....then plays a bunch of extras. Considering this thing did nothing 5 days ago.....I feel great
