Hello,
After the selection has played about half the time the turntable continues to run. I am assuming the contact is remaining cloased. How do I determine if that is a CS-1 adjustment or a Selector Gear adjustment?

Hi Tom, It's probably the transfer motor overrunning. It has an inertia clutch (I think that's what you call it?) and if it gums up, the motor overruns a bit so that the cam switch opens and then closes again. Anyway, it's nice and easy to check first.
Norman.

Hi Tom, i am not sure which motor is on that model, but if like the later models, it does have the "inertia" (aka "fly {out}") type clutch. These motors, despite what the manual, says NEED oil ! There is a large felt, on both sides, of the armature that must be saturated with 20 wt. oil, or they will 'over run", every time. To check this quickly, put a drop of oil on both ends of the armature's shaft-- still do it -- If not, that's the problem, for sure. Ron Rich

Hi Ron, Looks like clock work to me. I don't see a spout like the turntable motor. Sorry the picture is on its side.

Tom, Ainna gonnbee no "spout"-- look for a "drilled" small hole on the ends of the armature shaft housing, near the brass bearing. Ron Rich

Ron, For whatever reason "casimages" posts everything in landscape so that's what we have here. All the contacts, cam and plate removed. You can now get to the oiler. This was easy compared to the other side. This isn't cotton but something more fibrinous. The inertia wheel. On the dark side of the moon. On the bright side it works now. Thanks. - Tom

Hi Tom, Now that I see it-- I do recall it-- on the later motors, it's slightly different, in that the casting has a hole on the ends-- and the motor ha a MUCH larger oil wick ! Ron Rich
