Hello
In a 474 or 468-1 can we replace Electronic Credit Unit: 51375-A by :
- 50635-A not electronic but with timing card - 48335-A / 48335-1-A not electronic
Because if you have a 51375-A with IC dead, it's impossible to find another one. I think to put a 50635-A or 48335-A inside, but how ?
Update wiring cable ?

Hi Larry, I cannot help with your query except to suggest that it would be difficult, supposing it actually was possible! As an alternative, I think it would be fairly straightforward to arrange "free play" - if that interests you?

Hi Larry, I think all you need to do to make your 51375-A with a faulty IC 51301 free play is to artificially activate transistor Q3 (see pages 12 & 13 of the manual) to give you permanent credit. You could do this by making pin 33 of the IC logic "high" (just under 5V). It's always hard to be precise when something is faulty so you would have to ensure that if you do apply a voltage to pin 33, that the faulty IC doesn't pull it down for example.
If you check the pins of the IC, you might well find a pin that's stuck at logic high - in which case you could just link that pin to 33.
I think that's all that's required. As far as I can see, that faulty chip does nothing other than bookkeeping.
Norman.
