Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I have worked on Seeburg 1938 Classic jukeboxe & a few of the Seeburg Selectomatics like the Happy Days box. I am currently working on a Wurlitzer 1080 which as best I can determine is very close if not exactly like the 1015 mechanism.
I have already replaced the 'Turntable Lift Arm & Roller assy (44886) and 'Turntable Lift Link (27893)'. The roller was loose & had worn the hole wide. I had to replace the Link piece as a previous tech had fabricated one to accommodate the wearing roller assy. So when the non-worn roller arm was installed, there was no adjustable room left to calibrate the turntable lift and down positions.
I was very fortunate to find both pieces on eBay for reasonable prices.
So since I'm not familiar with all the pitfalls of the 1015 mech, while performing lubing, I discovered that the oval shaped roller (30521) that fits on the 'Actuator Lever and Bearing Assy (44870)' which registers which record tray will be selected is all worn out & causing play in the record selecting mechanism. Both of these issues most likely resulted from lack of regular maintenance.
This box as well as a Seeburg Trashcan and a Seeburg Selectomatic all reside in a restaurant. Of course finding someone to do regular maintenance or an owner who even knows that these older boxes require it is far & few between.
Anyway sorry to be so long winded and I'm not sure I can even find the roller that fits on this actuating lever. Now has anyone attempted to remove the 'Selector Cam (30435)'? It appears in order to replace the roller, the selector cam needs to be removed. It is set in place by what they call a 'Tapered Pin (664)'. This looks like a tough pin to even access much less push out. I'm imagining one would have to tap it out with a punch of some sort (from the tapered side of course), but even if I could accomplish that, I'm pretty certain I would not be able to find or fabricate that tapered pin. I'm not a machinist but can see that it would be possible to drill the tapered hole to a solid hole & then use a more available pin, but that is far beyond my capabilities or the cost the owner would tolerate.
Am I overthinking this? I cannot upload the pages from the svc manual as this forum says it's exceeded it's upload capacity. The pages from the 1080 & 1015 manual with exploded view are pp14 & 17.
Any info would greatly be appreciated.
