Greetings all... So my story goes like this... I came across a Seeburg M100B at a bargain price on ebay. The purchase took some serious deliberation though, as I'm kinda running out of floor space (have a Rock-ola 440, and Rowe Cadette) but decided to drive 5 hrs this time to Washington DC, area to get the latest new, old, coin operated phonograph. Rented a 10 foot box truck from home depot, and had nothing in it except the jukebox! A very full day of travel. Anyway I just started troubleshooting.
The good news is it actually works, sort of. It will grab a record, load it and play it and remove it. The audio quality is surprisingly good. But it is not responding to human control. It will get a record, play it, put it back, get the next record, play it and put it back. This goes on continuously.
When it gets to the end of the travel, it will reverse course and start playing the opposite sides of each record. The stylus assembly will switch positions for the next batch of 50 songs. (Sometimes the V200 does appear to get stuck, and may not step to the next record. This happens once inawhile)
I am just getting started, and am not very up to speed on this model yet. I've cleaned and adjusted nothing. Pretty dusty inside the cabinet, but I really can't believe this thing even works at all after 70 years!
(I am not even sure what cartridge is installed, mono or stereo.) Only thing I've done is remove the exploding capacitor I read in Ron's other thread. However, I thought a quick test drive to baseline this thing was a good idea. Thankfully it sounds pretty good. Amp and electronics seem pretty good.
However, the pushbutton selector panel is completely inop. There is no mechanism response activity after pressing any entry. The buttons do depress and release well, but there is no signal to the mechanism to go grab a specific selection.
I did get the manual but I am just getting my feet wet, on this latest 310 lb monster...
Thanks for any help or suggestions! I appreciate it..
Cheers!
