Upon removing the Record carousel from my Wurlitzer 3800 I am seeing that all of the "fingers" on the underside are bent at a consistent angle. I am assuming that these "fingers' should be at a 90 degree angle to the carousel base? I just want to confirm this before attempting to straighten them imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/4415/yamj5Z.jpg

Hold off on any attempt to straighten them --yet-- I am not sure either-- what function do they preform ? Do they move up-down ? I can't imagine how they all could be bent, like that if they were not supposed to be that way ? Ron Rich

They definitely look bent to me! There are a number of images in the 3800 manual showing them. Looks like they might have been fouled somehow by the rotating basket?

There are 3 of the fingers that are still straight, the rest are bent. The bent ones get hung up in their respective slots if they are depressed. They appear to ratchet the counter wheels on the basket assembly. There is an arm (#19 referenced to in the parts list as the counter lever) that is also bent on the baseplate where the carousel basket mounts that looks like it would line up with the bent fingers of the carousel. This may have been the culprit. See the attached images, the area circled in red is the location of the bent arm on the base plate and the other two photos show the arm closeup. imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/6893/WSarnF.jpgimagizer.imageshack.com/img922/4743/23pk3q.jpgimagizer.imageshack.com/img922/4494/CuLIDN.jpg
