It's a Rock-Ola model 440, made in 1968-1969.

First of all, I would like to say that this is a very helpful site for those working on a jukebox. But my reason for this post is to address Ron Rich, who I guess is the Major Domo of this site. I'm new to this site, and in all probability will be cancelled, but so be it. In my short time on this site I've noticed that Ron seems to be a real hard ass regarding terminology and the "correct" naming of parts. I'm guessing that Ron may be a former "Jar Head" and therefore requires strict discipline in these matters. However I find his curt remarks to his subscribers is very offensive to people who are not as knowledgeable as he is in the subject matter. As an example, I once referred to the A-B switch as a "micro switch", Ron was quick to advise me that it was NOT a micro switch. So, what's the big deal? On another posting, Ron asked the subscriber "if he could read"? Lighten up, GIVE US A BREAK!! Ron, visitors to this site are looking for help, not criticism of their skillset.

Hi Rich, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect anyone fixing up a jukebox to have the appropriate manual and to use the terms in the manual when describing a problem. As an example, there are a number of "micro switches" used in a typical Rock-Ola but only one A-B snap switch (which is not by any stretch, a micro switch!) so A-B switch exactly defines the location. After all, you are the person requiring help.
Ron Rich has made nearly 7,500 posts on this site; that amounts to a lot of his time providing free technical assistance - I think he is entitled to occasionally tick people off!
By the way, what is a "Jar Head"?
Norman.

Hi Guyz No-- I am not an ex Jar head ( US Marine, for you guyz across the pond), nor am I a "mind reader". If one does not use the correct terminology, it may,and often changes my response, which winds up wasting my time, as well as the questioner's time-- and could result in more damage being done ! Rich PLEASE, READ, as you were asked to in a PM-- the "Hi Newbies" post,in the FAQ's section, and READ, the stickies in the "User Introductions" sections. Your opinion is welcome here-- You may stay, or leave- ! Ron Rich
P.S. "Micro Switch" is a registered trade mark of Honeywell, and they get "mad" when their name is incorrectly used for a switch, not of their production !
