Hi Malcolm, Got the photo-- that's a "standard" AMi relay, of the time--that "red cover" is the mechanism shroud- Do you have the parts catalog for your phono-- it will show you how that shroud is attached . Do you have the Service Manual--the contact information (air gaps) should be shown there, if not use the info in our FAQ's section, on "contacts---" Do you have a relay adjusting tool ?-- If not, and you don't know what you are doing, you CAN, cause more damage ! I have about 50 years experience as an nc engineer and xerox tech. I’ve got the service manual. I’m trying to see in the parts catalog how to remove the shroud with the transfer arm stuck in place.

Hi Malcolm, Don't try removing the shroud with the transfer arm over the turntable ! Turn the end of the gripper motor shaft,to move the gripper arm first -- Ron Rich
