I have a question if anyone can help. Every time I switch it on I have program free play and album play. Does it have a battery backup chip like the NSM?? It refuses to do auto play which I presume is like background with NSM Not sure if that is a different problem or related to above. I do have the service manual but can’t see anything related to my problem. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Colin

Hi Colin, Yes the WP 100 models, like all Rowe CD phono's, has a battery in the CCC. CHANGE it NOW--the "program section" of your Service Manual will tell you how to reset the BGM, if wanted. Ron Rich

Thanks Ron, I have changed the battery which solved the free play/album issues but I still can’t get it to play random background music. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Still no joy getting it to play random, does this box play the same as the NSM random play. On the NSM there is a button to press to start it playing but nothing on the Berkeley so perhaps it doesn’t? Thanks

Is it correct, on 40 I set at CDT and 47 is set to ON but nothing happens when the door is closed. Do I have a fault or am I doing something wrong??

Yep-- looks to me to be "operator error"--What are you attempting to accomplish ? What is "CDT" ? Why are you "messing with 47" ? Ron Rich

I hope it is operator error! It says under 4 (page2-37) has to be set at CDT or STD although I have tried both. Code 47 is Autoplay Status and I set this to ON What am I doing wrong???

I did read your intro and I thought I had answered your questions. I have read and re read the manual and I was doing what I thought was correct. I could be thick or stupid but for the life of me I can’t get it to play randomly. I have programmed it via the manual to do other functions all except random play. You asked me why I’m messing with 40 or 47 but as I read the manual it’s the only codes associated with random play. Apologies again for my ignorance but it’s not by choice I can assure you.

Okay you win I thought it could continue to play random music like the NSM’s I have but obviously it either doesn’t or I’m too stupid to understand your questions or the manual so I’ll bow out from this forum.
