Hi Everyone,
My juke was working fine until a couple of weeks ago I started getting a loud buzz when I turned on the juke. The speaker overload light came on as well. After some research I found out that the issue was usually caused by a faulty PEC8 component on the driver board. After replacing the PEC boards the, loud buzz is gone but only the left channel works. When I switch to mono, both speaker sides work.
The driver boards are good as I swapped the shielded connector from the working channel to the other driver board and it worked. I would imagine if a driver board was bad I would not get sound out of it even in mono mode.
I replaced the needle cartridge with a new one and same issue.
Could this be a preamp issue? A ground issue? I'm not really sure where to look next.
Thanks, Robert

Hi Robert, Problems with that model of amplifier have cropped up a few times, you can look back at them. As a generalisation, these amplifiers suffer particularly from poor solder joints at the connectors; I would start there.

Hi Robert, Dono how long you have had that phono, but didja ever look at the speaker connections ? Are the speakers configured correctly? Is there any "old speaker wire" hanging around that can short out ? Ron Rich

Hi Robert You say you flipped the shielded connector over and “it worked”. If the audio went from one side to the other, there can’t be a problem with the preamp or drivers. You say you changed the cartridge, did you change the stylus itself? If it’s not the cartridge and it’s not the boards, then it must be the very dainty wiring between them, ie the shielded cable itself. Try an ohmmeter from cartridge to the 3-pin connector.
Good luck! Roger

Hey Guys, I just wanted to follow up and say both channels are now working.
It turned out to be one of the ground wires make a poor connection on the cartridge arm.
Thank you for all of the suggestions, I appreciate it!
