Hi all,
I have a Model 3000 that's been working fine for quite some time. Lately, the latch pins are randomly not fully springing up when pushing the selection keys. The solenoid plungers (0-9) appear to be function correctly, or at least according to the manual. It seems the rocker arms aren't pulling over enough to pop the pin. And again, it's random. If I push the section button for a particular song, example D4, on the third attempt it will pop the pin. Springs on the latch pins all look good and in place. Is this a selector solenoid issue or something else? The troubleshooting guide in the manual doesn't seem to address this particular issue, or at least I can't find it in the manual. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts before I yank the selector assembly back out of the jukebox and start tearing it down.
Thanks.

Morning, JT, I don't have a book here-- nor half my mind, and I've only had a few sips of coffee-- but I'll try to 'splain you what I think-- When a selection is made, the AC motor advances the ring to the point that two large, enclosed switches are activated. OFTEN, I have found those switches to be intermittent ! Check them both as stated in our FAQ's section. I think you'll wind up changing them-- Ron Rich

Good morning Ron. Thank you for the "half minded" feedback. I will look in the FAQ's and report back.

That's good to hear. Will check. It does seem to be related to the start switch. Minor adjustment seems to have made the issue better. However, my adjustments are off so need to re-read the instructions after more coffee. Currently it is firing all selections, but one pin off. D1 fires D2, D2 fires, D3, etc.
Thanks for the feedback.

JT, You can NOT "re-adjust" those switches-- If "re-adjustment" is needed, the switch, IS, faulty, and will soon be needing "re-adjusting", again, and again. One of the brands of switches that WurliTzer used there, is open-able, and can be re-rehabilitated, and re-assembled--Ron Rich

Can the start switch be removed without pulling the selector? It appears it can be, but….
