Hi All,
I have a 1972 Zodiac Wurlitzer which until now has worked great for the last 4 years since I’ve owned it. The other day the right side speakers started a rather loud uncontrollable with volume knob interference noise & static and white noise with no music coming out. Any suggestions or similar issue known? Possible amp or capacitors going bad? Thanks. -Chris

Swap the speaker leads-- does the problem switch sides, or not ? Ron Rich

After disconnecting and switching both leads no change. The sound or interference continues to come out of the right side speakers from the moment the Juke box is powered on with no record selected. The static sound varies in intensity, unbearable at times but absolutely no music sound going to right side when leads hooked up or switched.

I believe it’s isolated to the Channel A side of the amplifier? When a record is playing and Channel B input is unplugged sounds goes off and on from left side speakers. When the A side is unplugged/plugged in the right side interference just continues not stop whether the A side input is plugged in or not.

You are confuzzing my feeble mind ! Play a record-- plug in ONE input plug to either jack-- music from it ? If not, plug it into the other input jack-- Music now- if neither, try the other input the same way. If you find one, of the two plugs distorts, on both channels, the cartridge is bad ! Ron Rich

Music plays when either plug is connected to the “B” input (Left side speakers). Very very faint music plus the non-stop rolling static when either plug is connected to the “A”. Also the static from the right side never stops even when both inputs are completely unplugged and no record is playing. From the moment you flip on the power the right side speakers continues to pop and make static noise. Where are the “cartridges” located? Thanks. -Chris

Hi Chris, You have an amp problem-- best not to "mess around" with it, as it can cause further ($$$)damage-- send it to a good repair person. The "cartridge" is the thing that holds the needle. Ron Rich
