Hi all, it has been a while since I finished my 3010 restoration (a whole 2 months I think). I restored a few radios since then, and now back to my Wurlitzers.
The manual for 5207 wallbox and matching 257 stepper came in yesterday (if someone has a 257 project for sale, please let me know).
This machine must have lived in a greasy kitchen or greasy-spoon restaurant, and everything outside was covered in a thick solidified layer of grime and fat. So far I spent few hours cleaning the front chrome / window and buttons; they came out great. It used to sit on the wall and was painted around at least twice, and some of that paint does not want to budge - I am trying to figure out if it is ok to use acetone to remove the paint without damaging the chrome.
Inside was not bad, just dusty, so I blew out all the dust and started cleaning the coin acceptor and the mechanism.
Here is where I am stuck so far. There must be an easy way to remove the motor assembly, it is drawn separately in the manual, but I cannot figure out how to pull it out. I want to remove the motor to clean and oil it, and also this way I will have an access to the contact plate assembly and the spider to clean all the contacts properly.
Here is where I am now: photos.app.goo.gl/hpBWPruq6A9ABZSV7
Here is the motor assembly in the manual: photos.app.goo.gl/3mLCzispdUsGXQvS8
Also, is there a specific list of locations that need to be oiled/lubed inside? I mean it looks the same inside as a regular playrak, but still would be nice to have a list. The manual excerpt that I bought refers to page 10 para. 28 of section 8 of the main manual (I assume 1800 manual), but of course they did not scan that page, and I have 1900 manual, which does not have that section.
Thank you.
