Starting the cleaning and lubrication process and trying to address some issues.
Had a couple of selection issues.
ISSUE 1 Would not play side 1 (odd side) of record.
CORRECTIVE: Inspection found that SIDE ONE READOUT SWITCH ACTUATOR had somehow become jammed in up position. Released actuator and checked for spacing and alignment. Will now play SIDE 1.
ISSUE 2 Intermittent selection of any record or any side. Buttons would lock down, a relay would cycle, carousel would make two turns then stop, buttons would then release. At times would select.
CORRECTIVE: During cleaning and inspection observed that the LATCH SOLENOID ACTUATOR and LATCH SOLENOID SWITCH were not moving freely. Free movement returned with additional cleaner.
ISSUE 3 Incorrect credits applied after inserting coins and/or hanging coins.
CORRECTIVE: Removed old grease from REJECT ROD and applied contact cleaner to COIN SWITCH. Coins now move freely and correct credits are applied. This machine also has the option of selecting and playing PROGRAM 1 or PROGRAM 2 when 33 1/3 records are loaded in the correct slots. These program selections appear to be working correctly.
So...as has been mentioned I resisted the urge to adjust and am cleaning and lubricating and in my case having good results!
