Hi, my Continental 1, record basket continues to turn.
if I select a record, it stops, plays the record, but when it returns the record, the basket does not stop turning.
Hopefully someone may help point out what may be causing this.
Regards
Gordon….

Hi Gordon, The location of the scan control unit is shown on page RCS-4 of the manual. First thing to check, is the drive belt slipping or broken? I seem to recall a previous post where the drive belt was the issue, you should be able to find it by scrolling through the posts. There's a better illustration of the scan control unit showing the scan switch itself on page RCS-23.

Hi Norman,
Yes, the previously posted problem was about the same issue.
Yes, my drive belt is broken. It looks like a big job to replace it.
Now I need to find someone who is willing to ship one to Australia. I will try to 'super glue' it back together in the meantime.
Thanks for your help.
Gordon

Well, the 'Super Glue' repair is working at the moment.
I have found a local supplier who has the same size O rings, so, I'll order one for when it breaks again.
Thanks
Cheers

Hi Gordon, I think it was me who posted the previous post. Sounds like its the same problem I had recently. The belt was not gripping properly and slipping. Rather than preplacing the belt, my solution was first to make sure the belt was clean and free of any oil or dirt, then I put a couple of washers under the bracket/housing which holds the belt in place thus lifting the belt very slightly, thereby increasing the tension. Seems to have done the trick and is working fine now. I will keep monitoring the situation. Good luck with whatever route you take.

Hi Gary,
Sorry, I missed your post.
Yes, it looks like the same problem. I 'super glued' my belt together while I waited on the part. It's working well at the moment, so, when it breaks again, I will have to replace it.
Cheers
