Just watched a YouTube vid, was a 450 I think, anyway the turntable had what looked like provision to play both small hole records as well as large hole records,
were Rockolas onced equipped ?
I presume that if a small hole record was placed on the turntable, the three visible locating arms, for the large hole record would retract into the turntable allowing the record to align with the small hole.
If so no more "Dinking" required and possible dinking mishaps.

Thanks Ron,
I don't have a service manual I'm afraid (yet anyway) So would one of these "dual purpose" turntables fit my 477 ? If so do you know the Part No ?
Thanks once again

Apparently its called a Automix Turntable
Think that after a bit more investigative work I've found that it possibly needs its own turntable mechanism also, found a seller who has one listed as Automix Turntable Mechanism, so probably not a straight forward swap for a 477 turntable as i'd hoped.
Maybe somone who knows if it is a straight swap can let me know.
Thanks Stephen

You MUST, consult the correct service/parts manual-- the TT it self is a direct swap-- but if your phono is not equipped with the "where with all" to operate the speed change, it will never work-- Ron Rich

Also bear in mind that the original function of Automix was to play large hole discs at 45rpm and small hole discs at 33rpm - so you have to install it and then modify it. I'm also fairly sure that Automix was not an option on the 477 so I think it's fair to say you have an interesting task ahead should you proceed! But I'm not saying it couldn't be done!

Thanks for the info Norman, I now can see what the Automix was intended for and why you would need addition parts so that the box selected the correct speed relevant to the record to be played.
Never mind, thinks I'll leave well alone.
