When the service manual trouble shooting guide mentions sequence of operation what do they mean? Is there trouble shooting sequence ? I obviously know the literal meaning.

The manual should have a sequence of operation section, I think it's one of the end sections. If you "found" a manual via download, suspect that the section is missing.
Also, I believe the 3600 series of operation is the same (or very similar)...you may be able to find that on them internets!?
