I have an LS2 I’m working on. Cleaned and lubed since it hasn’t been in service for 10 years. The mech goes to the correct place but doesn’t pull the record. It doesn’t matter what slot I try. It goes to the correct spot and acts like it is playing. I don’t think this is the scan twice doesn’t play issue. I’ve have Ron’s and Tony’s books as well as the service manual. I know I missed it somewhere but all I see is where there are scan issues and I see this as a loading issue.
Any idea what I’m missing or what section of the book to reread?

Iffin you are speaking of me, Ron Rich, I wrote no books ! I did write a GUIDE, as a supplement, to the specific service manual for your model. If you have my guide, I thank you for your purchase--but I am not going to re-write it again, so you gotta read it, all by yourself ! OK, it's in there somewhere--but since I don't have a copy handy-- Pull out a record, select that space, and watch the lift arm--remember that arm is pulled up by a spring--Is it catching on anything--did you have the clutch out/ record rack off or moved ? ? If so, it could be catching on a separator, if not, you did not "clean/lube it well ! Ron Rich

Sorry, guide, not book, and yes, I got them from you a few weeks ago. I'm not sure what solved the issue but I pulled the mech forward, disconnected all the harnesses and reconnected everything. I then manually moved all the arms and springs to make sure they moved freely. Pushed the mech back in to place and it started working. I didn't notice anything catching, I'll just have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the info in the guide, it has helped a lot, even if I missed this.

Stephen, Your problem is mechanical, will return--someday, and is covered in the guide, in the trouble shooting section.
