Hi Ron, I selected a record this morning and as before the turntable spun slowly, i faced a heater at the motor and turntable while spinning ,after a few minutes auto speed went into 45 and the turntable spun at proper speed. The oil i used for lubrication is the 3 in one blue can you recommend in the FAQ section, the coupler turn easily. Just want to confirm the motor needs to be removed and cleaned before i actually do this thanks pete

I read the mech and it addresses what to do if the motor is running slow, Im in the process of removing the motor , unfortunately the coupler does not want to leave the top pin or the motor. I removed both allen keys completely. Even with a large flat screwdriver trying to wedge down in between top of the coupling and housing above no movement. I am afraid to increase tork in case i break something, any suggestions. Videos i have watched show the coupler falling off the motor with ease and using just a bit of leverage at the top. My coupler is soft but full of tiny cracks or splits. The motor spins very easy by hand so im still not sure it needs an overhaul.

Hi Pete, If you have removed the top two Allen screws, ain't nothing holding it but "good looks"-- try two flat blade screw-drivers at the same time ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron i was able to get coupler off but only with a drift pin and hammer, from what i see after its off it seems it was damaged on installation or from the factory, the hole in the middle was not perfectly round. I spun the motor and after letting go it still rotated 2 to 3 times, i think its fine. I have attached a photo of bottom of motor, there is no other rubber underneath it. pete

Hi Pete, If it weren't for bad luck, you would not have any luck, at all ! Have never run into that one ! I already went to the post office with the motor coupler-- Make a plug-- I think one could use one of the sticky mounts you use on a glass or wooden chopping board to keep it off the counter-we have some here that are about the right size-- It should support the motor so that the two round rings are flat, when the motor is installed. Installed the new coupler and had no choice but to file the upper hole in the coupler to get it on, allan screws were completely backed off. It seems the diameter of the upper pin was lager than the coupler. This must be why it was so difficult to remove the damaged one. pete
