Any extraneous noise worries me a bit. My Rock-Ola 468 has had a slight one when I turn it on and play a few sides. You only hear it when there's no record playing. My first thought is always "capacitor going." Anyway, my two jukeboxes live in our summerhouse and provide me with "gardening music." Today I was busy in the garden, so it must have played about fifty sides. The last one was just before I went in to lunch, so I walked up to it and found it completely silent. Just to be sure I selected another side to make sure it was working, which it was. I can only conclude that the hum may have been coming from one of the fluorescent chokes and the noise disappears when it gets warmed up.
Any ideas?

Hi Doghouse-- How about un-plugging the lights-- If you can do so, that will tell you if the "hum" is from them, or something else- or, un-plug the amp- still got hum ? If so, almost gottabee, the lamps--no worries-- Ron Rich
