Good morning all,
I'm in the process of taking apart the mech of a rock-ola 436 to clean it. I have all the manuals, but I'm having trouble (or lacking confidence) on how to remove the carousel. In the manual I see the main shaft and the carousel are connected and I can't deduce if I need to try and get the carousel off of the main shaft or have to disassemble the entire module (shaft + carousel).
I already removed motors, selection disc, counter and the only thing that is still connected to the main shaft are carousel, two points of the carriage and a gear for the counter mechanis.
What would you suggest how I continue with the disassembly?
Kind regards, Kevin

Hi Kevin, The parts catalogue shows how it all goes together - you have stated you have all the manuals so that is where to look. I only have a 435 parts catalogue and the carousel breakdown is shown on page 16, mechanically they will be pretty much the same.
Norman.

Thanks you Norman, I have that open but I wonder how much force I can apply to get the main shaft removed from the carriage. Am I supposed to hammer it out?

Hi Kevin, I take it that you have removed item 10 the mounting bracket at one end and item 43 the read-out assy arm at the other end - in which case it should come away. With the motor off, the carousel should freely rotate. As you turn it, can you see anything that might be stopping its removal like a bit of a burr on the shaft at the read-out end?
Norman.

Hi Norman and Ron,
Thanks for the help, the trick with pulling it out while rotating made it very straightforward. In that way I could also see an additional setscrew I forgot to loosen on the gear that also drives the counter mechanism shaft.
Awesome support as ever! Thanks for sharing your expertise once again.
Kevin
