I fixed my "RESET AND RESELECT" issues . 2 slide on spring contacts had collapsed in the edge pc board connector of the black and gray boxes. If you look carefully, bad ones don't stand as high as their neighbors .
Now it works great as long as room temp is above 70 degrees . Below that the clutch doesn't shift. Picks up record tonearm sets down, and then record transfers back to magazine..over and over. A minute with a blow dryer and all's well for 10 min. I need to clean and oil the clutch but HOW? Do I have to remove the magazine ? The entire mech? Whoever designed these was an evil genius .

Hi Rich, Nope, you needn't remove the record rack-- you just need to read my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide"-- See our "parts for sale" section. Ron Rich

I'm afraid I need to disassemble the clutch pivot to clean and re lube. If it's anything like the brush linkage, I had to pry apart and clean with solvent. No amount of oiling would penetrate it. Guess I'll pull whole chassis and see if I can either take it off the rails, or remove mag. Was hoping for an easy fix, but sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet and do it right. Be better in the end. Thanks for the help, and keep up the good work.

Well I couldn't get to it so I removed the magazine. Marked everything carefully . Yoke pin was siezed ,cleaned up & lubed put everything back ... Now will play when tripped but won't play keyed selection.
battery will make it select, numbers match record. Tormat is lined up . Battery - to tormat has no effect.
Was selecting fine before I took apart. Select advances counter, scans twice and shuts down, IO manual says contact to check, just fine. Frog is right on contacts. What did I do?

Changed out the gray box..still the same. Notice that when scanning it's near silent..no clickity sounds as it moves. Maybe a clue? All worked fine until I removed the magazine to remove and fix a frozen clutch pin. I had trouble with the light spring that goes on the clutch lever but think I got it right. Scans when keyboard digits are entered, plays fine when you lift the lever, when done with song it replaces the record and scans. Play meter advances for each selection, but not the wheel on the popularity counters. Doing the battery trick to the rca plug from the tormat has no effect. Putting +1.5v to rca going to the receiver while scanning activates trip lever and it plays the record indicated . So it's not reading I believe . Contacts and wires on frog are right, block shifts at each end of travel.
When using the battery to charge the tormat, should it be in motion to contact all sectors while scanning, or at rest? I tried both ways. I must have done something , but WHAT? Rca plug from tormat reads 2ohms. Gotta do a resistance check from frog contacts to wherever they go to see if there is a lack of communication somewhere . I'm fuzzy as to the process of reading. do the contacts of the tormat put out a signal to the wiper as it goes by, or provide a ground. I'd like to insert a signal there to see if it would trip? I'll go back and read some more. Thanks.

18 minutes ago Post by tvtechrich on 18 minutes ago Success! After magazine removal and clutch pin clean/lube my box would not read. Had to resort to reading the schematic to find the path from tormat contacts to the read load. Goes thru the detent switch..I don't know why, but I must have bumped it somehow .
I see it is possible to remove the clutch with magazine in place by moving the mech to the far left, removing the gray box and holder. But nobody told me. I suppose I should've bought Rich's book, but that seems like cheating. Don't know which way I would do in the future, it was nice having the record rack out of the way.
