Rock Ola motor brushes

Hello

i need to replace the carbon brushes, the carbon measures 4mm x 4mm. The old ones had a central wire with a metal plate at the end. It seems that all carbon brushes that are 4mm x 4mm do not have the central wire and end plate.

Would it matter if i purchased carbon brushes without the wire and plate?

Any help would be appreciated.
