No, I don't think that's correct - the read-out arm is on the outermost side of the selection drum which I would consider to be the right hand side as you face the unit? Have you not looked in the manual that I sent you?
From what you've written above, it does look as if the write-in is at least partially operational. Is the wobble plate solenoid operating (WI Sequence 10)? The wobble plate switch energises the play control relay (RO Sequence 2, page 38).

Yes i read the manual, this is how i adjusted the read out and the write in. I agree i reversed the names, when i select the write in arm moves, stops at the selection and the hammer fires the pin down. After that everything stops and both read out and write in hums loudly. I will start the unit and see what the wobble plate switch does. Ive been looking at diagrams and dont see where the play control relay is, Thank you for helping with this pete

Hi Pete, The play control relay is in the power distribution unit. I don't remember which relay it is, are they marked? Page 43 which should tell us, is missing from the parts catalog!

Hi Ron and Norman, firstly Ron i reoiled the WI motor but the felt was already wet, secondly i looked at the wobble plate switch, there is a copper looking u shaped piece of metal on it and it appears to be intact. When i select A7 with the buttons, write out motor start, arm spins, stops at A7 and hammer fires pin, then all stop, wobble plate switch or solenoid engages and vibrates loudly , if i try and move switch by hand no change. If i restart unit and push up A7 on read out side, wobble switch gets pushed up no vibration and carriage goes through complete motion including playing and returning A7.

Hi Pete, Either the wobble plate is sticky, or the coil is not getting a full pulse, or it's weak -- Hold you hand there when it's attempting to pull the plunger, and "help it"-- should work OK at that point --

I selected A7, write in spun and soon as it stops,, it and the wobble switch and the read out vibrates, If i hold down the wobble switch vibration stops but nothing works, i tried while holding down to engage using a and b side pins, nothing. Now when i turned off the unit and restart i can manually push one of the read out pins and all works as normal.

Pete, Is the carriage hammer coil able to push the pin all the way to the "selected" state ? What are you "pushing down" ?

You probably have dirty contact issues, I suspect. Pay attention to the contacts operating in WI sequence 10, which also explains how the fat pulse is generated.

The contacts have been cleaned i will clean again. I have found an issue that again may be the problem, the write in stops at one number before selection, if i adjust the screw i can almost get it to the correct number but to get it exactly the screw moves the wiper assembly closer to the wheel and it doesn't clear the screw head when spinning, when i turn the screw back to where it clears it stops a 1/4 inch early. Im not sure if the plate that holds the blade is bent or if there is another adjustment.

After spending about an hour i have come to the conclusion the write in can not be adjusted to hit the correct number, i can get close and just move the screw an eighth of an inch and then be off again by 2 numbers, i can move it a complete turn and move it 1 number, even when i get it almost perfect without touching the screw it will be in a different location next time. . Also if i hold down the hammer and move the correct pin still nothing moves just everything vibrates . I recleaned the wheel with first water based degreaser, then completely dried, then used my burnisher to clean the wiper blade contacts, then sprayed deoxit 5. i think its clean. pete

It seems to me something is powering up and not going off even if the pin is tripped. After writing this i went back out to the jukebox, because the lid is open and i could not see the buttons i never noticed the select buttons are not releasing after engaging write in. I tried a few times each time the buttons only release when i disconnect power.

Hi Pete, WHUTZ "buzzing" How didja "clean relay contacts" ? Didja chek fuse sizes-- if something's "buzzing" it should blow the fuse ! Ron Rich

Used a burnisher and deoxit 5 when i push the letter and number button , the write in arm moves ,when it stops it tries to push pin but the coils just buzz and the hammer sticks, also buzzing on the read out side, also at the wobble switch, if i manually lift the pin from the read out side the noise gets worse, also at the same time both buttons are in the pushed in position until it turn off power. what is supposed to release the buttons? i cant see a coil or solenoid, maybe it needs cleaning.

Hi Pete, The latch solenoid (pushbuttons) should be released when the ADR relay energises. The ADR relay is energised by a contact of K2. You need to be following the WI sequence 10 to determine where it's hanging up. For example, is the ADR relay pulling in as described at step 4 of sequence 10?
There is also something mechanically wrong if you cannot adjust the write-in arm. Is the read-out arm fixed correctly and securely? Just thinking that if the read-out arm isn't fixed properly, that it has then been adjusted to align the basket to selector drum and that in turn is throwing off the adjustment for the write-in arm?
Norman.
