Hey y’all! Quick question to see if there’s any ideas out there…having problem for a while, side B plays perfectly fine, side A will play (albeit with less than perfect sound) until around 3/4 of the record, then will continually skip. I can put a little pressure on the left pressure spring and it will seem to continue, but once I let off it will go back to the same spot where it started to continually skip. I have adjusted the springs and pressure many times with no solution, please throw out any ideas y’all may have ! Thanks in advance!

Hi Chad, What "springs" have you "adjusted"--How ? With, or without using the proper needle gauge, as per the instructions in the Service Manual? Ron Rich

Also, the counterbalance under the tonearm comes to mind. Is that adjusted correctly?

Apart from needle pressure and counterweight adjustment check your tonearm wiring. These wires tend to get stiff to the point the are no longer flexible enough to have the tonearm move freely. Adjustment of the trip switch could cause issue's or if the little plunger of the tripswitch is gunged up.
my 5 cents worth

Hi Marcel, Your suggestions here are worth at LEAST 10 cents --- Also, if "monkeyed with" the counter balance adjustment, and the lock lever pin, need to be examined-- see the service manual ! If using the "new improved" stylii on the market today-- set pressure at 4 grams ! Be sure pivots are clean, and properly oiled before, doing anything ! The actuator for the trip off switch must be "chromed" metal--not what some replacement switches use, as the Nylon to Nylon ones WILL bind up and cause this problem ! Ron Rich
