Hi,
I noticed last night while playing my USC2 that it will not reverse and move to the "home" position at record slot 177 when scanning is complete.
It will complete the first scan without problems, but at the end of the second scan, it just stops at the end of the rack, with the subtract switch staying pulled in (it's on the little ramp) and thus the subtract solenoid remains energized. If I push the mech start switch on the service panel, the mech will begin another scan, the reversing switch is getting flipped prior to the "stall" because the mech moves back to the left and does not move right and then reverse after initiating another scan.
I've tried cleaning/adjusting the related switches and adjusting the mechanical stops without any improvement. The initial settings were in line with the manual settings, so I don't think anything "moved" or fell out of adjustment.
Is there anything else to check beyond "simple" mechanical adjustment/switch actuation that could cause the problem?
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, Have you observed what the scan control assembly, in the DCC, is doing ? Is the .01x1400 cap still attached to the switch itself ? If the cap is missing, it MUST be replaced-- then check that the operation of the ratchet is OK--- on the second pulse-- it must allow the contacts to stay closed until the plunger "drops out" the 2nd time. If that's OK, check-clean, the contacts (see "contacts" stickies in FAQ's section here) adjust the contacts to stay closed till after it drops out the 2nd time--( The above is covered in my supplemental, "Seeburg Mechanism Guide"- See the parts for sale section here, for details, should you wish to purchase a copy) Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
Yes the cap across the switch was there...I replaced it anyway...with no change.
After that I replaced the 0.22 caps across the solenoid coils, and magically it works.
Thanks for the quick reply and hope you're doing well.
Regards,
Bill
