low bass on ami tropicana

hi everybody, 
i have a issue with my ami rowe tropicana the bass seems low and the sound is slightly screechy , or a bit trebbley sounding the preamp is set on max bass . could it be a cartidge issue speakers are fine.

It very much appears that the cartridge may not be wired correctly - the channels should be connected out of phase. Time to get the schematic out and make sure it is connected as shown there. AMi's like these are very susceptible to enthusiasts getting stuck in, not really knowing what they're doing!

Doubt it's a cart. issue-- Are the speakers connected PROPERLY --how about the cart. ---?? If so, it's an amp system problem-- Didja READ, the Hi Newbies post, in the FAQ's section ?- Is this a "new" happening ?? Ron Rich
