Hi I have an LPC1 and I just watched a few videos on units playing, ive noticed mine is doing something strange, when selecting the A side of a record and the carriage stops, the record player changes direction and plays on B side. I thought it had something to do with that model ,but see in videos mine is screwed up.

Pete, I can not READ for you ! READ the copy of my Mechanism Guide, you purchased from me-- Read the I & O manual for the LPC-1. READ the "Friendly" Service Manual-- The answer is in almost all of them ! Ron Rich

Yes i did read thats why i understand your reaction to my query, I never thought about the two pulse amps, i have now switched the rca cords and that issue is resolved. I removed the income totalizer and have the unit working, still can only add credits by hand. The way this unit is wired is a push button switch between the red and black wire going to the credit unit, the other two wires are not in use. When i used to push the switch i would get about 8 credits, now nothing moves. I tested the credit switch (maybe called nickel switch) and got 8.6 ohms resistance from the switch, I cant find the voltage in my schematics to see what i should get when unit is on.

I opened up the credit unit and found a bare wire on the 50 cent add coil, i think this is what caused to over heating and smell, i taped up the wire and cleaned and checked the unit. It now works fine. Im not happy with the amount of credits it gives, when the credits are used up and you push the credit button, the wheel turns to the maximum about thirty credits. I figure there must be a way to reduce this, i know the manual describes different credits for different amounts of coins, hopefully it will address some one wiring it for maximum each time.

After reading the manual, if i am correct, the credit adjustment is on the motor panel assembly, my unit does not have that, just the lower chassis deck. Is there anyway without the motor assembly that i can stop the credit from jumping to maximum each time? pete PS i think i have resolved the issue ,the add arm had jumped out of position so i repositioned it and i moved the 50 cent stop to the furthest position to the right, at no credit i now get 4 when pressing credit button..

Hi Scott, Nope--re-read it (add arm is not on a "motor panel" ?)-- ! Did you change the fuses to the correct ones ?? DO NOT "USE" that "credit button" with over a 4/10 amp slo blo fuse, installed in the 1/2 amp "hole" ! Ron Rich

I never said the add arm was on the motor panel, i said my motor panel was missing, as stated above, i found the add arm was in an incorrect position and i re positioned it, thats why the unit was giving maximum credits with the push of the credit button. Why does the 1/2 amp fuse need to be 4/10? I will change it , someone had put a 2 amp in the other side but i have changed it for a 1 1/2.

Morning Pete, I didn't write it--you did LOL-- "-(add)-credit adjustment is on the motor panel"-- Nope-- ALBUM subtract, adjustments, ONLY, are on the motor panel. All adding of credits is done on the main panel-- 4/10 amp SB fuse was suggested by the factory, as the 1/2 will not always protect the add coils well enough--especially true if a "free play" switch has been added ! Do not "hold" that switch--push & let go--quickly ! Ron Rich
