This weekend I plan to replace all the old Electrolytic Capacitors in my 1968 LS2 Gem TSA 7 and 1971 USC2 Firestar TSA 10 Amps. Both jukeboxes are working however the sound quality could use improvement. This is "proactive" maintenance as the amplifiers are original and are over 50 years old so time to replace the Lytics.
I am pondering "If" I should also be ordering replacement parts for the smaller TSA amp capacitors: Mylar, Tantalum and Ceramic Disks? or change out specific resistors / diodes that are known to have issues with aging?
Your 2 cents are appreciated...
Regards, Mark

Hi Mark, Tats- yep-- others should be OK--except if you happen to spot any "Solor" brand caps--- I don't trust that brand ceramics-- Ron Rich

a bunch of 1uF 35V Tantalums in route to me. I notice on the board these are "+ and -" like the Lytic capacitors. which made me ponder - Since capacitance is capacitance, could these tants be substituted with 1uF 35V or 50V Lytics?

Got the answer from a friend-- Basically, the Tant. is more accurate in it's value--and stays there longer-- full explanation here. Ron Rich

Interesting article - thanks Ron. Noticed the ebay photo posted by jukeboxfridaynight cap kits show a lytic replacement also.
