I'm working on a LS3, and ran into a problem. It would not accept a number 1 as the first digit of a selection. The 1st digit light would not come on. If I tried a selection with the 1st digit of 2, it selects and plays fine. If I had any selection with a 1 in it, the mech would not start when the 3rd digit was pushed. I went through the DES per Ron's guide with no change. I next put in a know working DCC and everything works fine. In order to narrow it down, I next started swapping out the boards in the DCC. I finally narrowed it down to the power supply board. When swapping out that board to either DCC, every thing works fine. I can't seem to figure out what on the power supply board would cause this.
Thanks for any input.

Hi Lincoln, Are you speaking of the 311125- power supply PCB ? If so It should not "know" anything about what digit you push on the DES. I SUSPECT, that you had a problem with the plug on the 311134 interface board, that got cleared when you moved it to change the power supply board-- Try swapping it back in--see what happens-- Ron Rich

Ron,
Yes I was talking about the 311125-C power supply PCB. I too could not think of any reason it would cause this problem. I first thought my problem was in the 311134 board, which would have made sense. When I figured out that it only happens when this power supply board is in the DCC, I swapped it in and out several times with out unplugging the interface board, and the problem only shows up only when that board is installed. I even went as far as grabbing a different DCC out of another machine. It would work fine until I put that power control board in it. It would then create the "no #1" button problem. I'll have to do some more digging around to see if I can find the culprit.

Hi Lincoln, Look at the top of that 125 board-- I have seen where items from the upper 134 board were "poked thru" and conducting from the top, to the bottom board-- Check the "quadrabit" chart in the Trouble Shooting Guide, for info on the #1.-- Will the # 1 work as a 2nd/3rd digit ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
That light bulb when off in my head last night when I remembered reading about components poking through between the boards in your guide. I couldn't see anything, but will double check that.
If I use #1 as a first digit, it will not illuminate the "1st digit light", if I use it as a second or third digit it will illuminate the "2nd digit light", but the mech will not start scanning if there after the third digit is pushed. As an example, if I push 222 it select that record fine. If I push 212, or 221, the mech does not start to scan.
My thoughts are if the 125 board is supplying the correct voltage for the 2 to work it should be supplying the correct voltage for the 1 to work. This leaves something on that board must be coming into contact with the data line used by the #1.
