Hi there, I'm afraid that my 477 has developed a fault that I'd appreciate some ideas as to what course af action I need to be looking at
Today whilst liostening to the juke I thought that does'nt sound right, after further investigation, I found there was no sound from the left channel ( right side ok ) when switching to Mono both left and right are ok.
Apart from the problem being with the amp , would it be best to otain a new cartridge / styli , as apposed to just replacing the styli to elliminate the problem there ?
What else could be causing this ?
Thanks again Stephen

Hi Stephen, That problem can be caused anywhere from the needle thru the amp, to the cross-over, to the speakers. You will need to do some trouble shooting to find that fault. Start with what is "swapp-able" between the two channels-- like the speaker connections-- does the fault switch sides with the speaker wires-- bad speaker (or connections to it). How about the input -- if possible, swap there too-- switch sides :? If yes, the fault is at the cart,, or connections to it--rare-but possible it's the needle-- if not-- you have amplifier internal problems--HTH Ron Rich

Thanx for that Ron, Now gives me some ideas as to what to try, just didn't think there would be a problem at the speaker end because sounds come out of left speakers if I switch from Stereo to Mono.
I did forget to add that of late the left channel speakers defineatly had seemed quieter compared to the right channel speakers ( so more likey an amp issue based on a previous Yamaha amp that had one channel fail ). Thanx again.
