Hi All, The problem of "sit & spin" on SAU model phono's ( "B" thru "JL"), can be alleviated on the ones used in HOME (non-commercial) service, to a large degree, by adjusting the "D" contacts so the safety plunger has moved across the record path, and cleared the link, prior to the contacts opening ! The adjustment must be made with a properly oiled and WARM mechanism motor. This problem is usually caused when the mechanism "sits" for a bit of time, un-used. The Safety plunger, ACTUATOR, gets "frozen" to it's pivot pin, causing the connecting link, aka."dog link", to catch the plunger. . Of course, removing, cleaning, and properly oiling, using the correct oil (see sticky !), the actuator, is the "best" cure -- As to the reason not to adjust the contacts, as above, in a commercially used phono-- I'll take that to my grave with me--unless someone wishes to expose it here --LOL-- Ron Rich
